Art Pottery is made from a denser, more durable grade of clay used by pottery artists. These pieces are usually hand painted, hand glazed and fired. Notable pottery studios were Van Briggle, McCoy, Roseville, Rookwood, Hall, Red Wing, Hagar and others. Art pottery from these studios remains highly collectible today.
